I wouldn’t consider myself a big ‘thrifter’ but from time to time I hit the thrift stores and give it a go.  Whenever I go into any second hand store my stategy is to go directly to the outerwear section (and next to the mens jean section in search of vintage Levi’s).  I’ve often found thrift stores have some great jacket and coats since you can usually find ones made of great materials such as leather, suede, and wool.  I look for jackets that are on trend at the moment like the plaid cape made of wool and the black suede 70’s coat with fur both vintage finds that are now again on trend.  I also had a long oversized trench coat on my list since this is a style that is coming back in a big way and this style is easy to come by in a second hand shop.  They black leather blazer was another item that has been on my list for a while now (it reminds me of Rachel Zoe!) This is an item I still have to play around with styling.  I always look for denim jackets in thrift stores in search of vintage Levi’s oversized men’s jackets, I instead found this hardly worn Wrangler jacket for $4! This might have been the score of the day.  The last burnt orange wool jacket was some what of an impulse buy as it was only $6 and couldn’t resist the overized shape and the fur collar plus it’s super warm for Canadian winters and will add that statement look to a more casual outfit.

And now that I look at all these jackets I now underestood what my husband, Rhys was thinking as I walked thru the door with loads of Value Village bags…..I might have gone a bit far.

What jackets are your favorites? What ones could I have left behind?
